Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief

I read this book because I enjoyed the Percy Jackson series a lot and I also watched to movie and it is one of my favorite fantasy movie. The author of The Lightning Thief is Rick Riordan he also wrote the other Percy Jackson books. The Lightning Thief is based on the Greek mythology.

The story is about a boy named Percy, he has a lot of tantrums and does not behave very well at school so he has to change school almost every time. Later he founds out that he has weird powers, his mom is worried about Percy, so she brings Percy to a special camp. When Percy arrives at the camp, the people surprise Percy and he founds out that he is the son of Poseidon, God of the sea, which means he is a half god. Almost everyone at the camp knows that Percy is the son of Poseidon. But people also find out that Percy has stolen the Lighting bolt of Zeus, the God of lighting. So he has to return the Lightning bolt but he does not know how. A dangerous adventure begins...

The author of the book is Rick Riordan. He is born in San Antonio on June 5th 1964. He is an American writer. He has wrote a lot of books including the popular Percy Jackson series that I really enjoyed. I like his writing because Rick always writes about the serious things that happens during the chapters. Rick is also an inspiration for a lot of young people that really enjoy reading. What I also like about his writing is that he sometimes makes funny jokes in the story and I really enjoy that.

The main character in The Lightning Thief is Percy I really like his personality although he has a lot of tantrums, he still can control his mind very well. I also really like this book because it is very entertaining and informative to read because while you reading the book you also know a lot of the Greek mythology.

If you like Harry Potter you probably will like this book too, because it has a similar story.
I recommend this book for the young audience because the author does not use to difficult words and it is very exciting and fun to read.
